Join the Emeryville community at the Emeryville station on Saturday May 10, for rail-related fun for the whole family! From 11am - 1pm, the City of Emeryville is hosting a community celebration in coordination with the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), Caltrans Division of Rail and Amtrak, to recognize National Train Day, and the key role that the Emeryville station plays in getting people and goods where they need to go. The CCJPA, Caltrans and Amtrak will present the first-ever California Golden STAR Award. Additionally, the station will host family-friendly fun such as a model train display, cookies and punch, and kid's activities.
Commemorative postcards, stickers and other giveaways will be handed out from 9am - 2pm in honor of National Train Day at Sacramento, Northern California's busiest train station (and the 8th busiest in the nation) on May 10th, 2008 while supplies last. Enjoy light refreshments and learn about Sacramento Regional Transit's direct Light Rail connection to the station.
Capitol Corridor, the Sacramento River Cats and the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento have teamed up to bring you free admission for National Train Day on May 10th. Show your Capitol Corridor ticket stub or River Cats game ticket, and you'll enjoy free admission to the museum.
